The mid-winter blues have set in across the country as snow dumped once again. No worries though because CMW is creeping up. A time for rejoicing, rocking and excruciatingly long awards shows. The layoffs continue this week, but there were some bright spots in radio land, especially surrounding the launches of the Virgin brand where Sir Richard Branson himself made stops. No one can create excitement like he can.
Notable:
-WIRED 96.3's Marc Michaels morning show moving to VIBE Calgary
-Mayor of Ottawa declares January 27th "Virgin Radio Day," Branson visits
-Canadian Association of Broadcasters lays off 14 staffers. 2009 CAB convention is also cancelled
-42 Days until CMW in Toronto
